The Big Announcement
Sorry for the weeks of radio silence here, but a lot has been going on behind the scenes in our life, and it’s all lead up to this:
Eleanor “Ella” Michelle B. was born October 22, 2007 at 9:13 pm local time at Cooper Green Memorial Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. 6 lbs 10 oz, 19 inches long. Both she and her birthmom, Tiffany, did great, and are totally healthy.
We flew out to Birmingham the night she was born, and have been through about the most emotional process we can imagine. We’re so happy to have little Ella, and so grateful to Tiffany for what she did for us. We know our happiness comes at the expense of her pain, and that’s something we want to honor. We also think Tiff is so brave and so strong for making this choice. It’s a real testament to how much she loves Ella and her other two kids.
We will tell the whole story in detail here over the next few weeks. BM3 will now be about the making of our family, not just our road to adoption, and we hope you’ll come back often to hear us brag about our little Ella.
